Commercial MISMO Kicks Off New Workgroup for Rent Rolls and Operating Statements

I’ve been writing about this for a while; here is the official announcement, plus a way for you to join the MISMO Commercial Operating Statements and Rent Rolls listserv. Do it now!

Dear Commercial MISMO Participant:

MISMO is pleased to announce the formation of a new workgroup initiative to develop a standard for the electronic exchange of rent rolls and property operating statements for commercial and multi-family properties.

Property rent rolls and operating statements are critical documents for assessing the economic health of a commercial or multifamily property. Rent Rolls are a fundamental component of underwriting and loan analysis and Operating Statements are critical in determining historical performance of the property.

Currently, these reports are generated at the property level in various formats and exchanged by all industry participants, but the multiple ways of exchanging this information are inefficient.

MISMO intends to create standards that facilitate the electronic movement and timely re-use of the rent roll and operating statements based on the Version 2.0 Commercial MISMO Reference Model and in sync with the CMSA’s IRPx 6.0 draft schema. With much of the foundation for these reports already in XML format, this work should be fairly straightforward and able to be completed in a timely manner.

If you are interested in participating in this effort, please go the www.mismo.org web site and sign up for the MISMO Commercial Operating Statements and Rent Rolls listserv to receive announcements of conference calls and other communication about this effort. When you sign up, be sure to agree to the MISMO IPR and Antitrust Policy and to respond to the confirmation email to activate your account on the distribution list.

The first conference call will be held next Thursday, June 4 at 3:00 pm Eastern Time.

Sincerely,
Gloria G. Zimmer
